Patricia De Fonte is a graduate of Santa Clara University (B. A.) and Golden Gate University (JD / LLM). In 2016, she established De Fonte Law PC to work with families and individuals to provide the much needed stability and peace of mind that comes from knowing an estate is in order.

Patricia believes, “that an estate plan has failed if it does not preserve family harmony. Estate planning is not simply filling out a questionnaire and then signing documents a lawyer has prepared for you. Estate planning decisions come from the heart, after guided discussions and counsel about your options.”

As an experienced estate planning attorney, Patricia understands the tax implications of how the client holds title in order to best protect a surviving spouse and/or other beneficiaries. Transferring real estate to a revocable trust is only part of the story. Ensuring maximum tax efficiency is critical – especially since real estate is often the largest asset a client owns.

Patricia loves to provide education to both the consumer and to other professionals. A goal of this presentation is to learn why it is NOT okay to "Take Title In The Trust"!

De Fonte Law PC supports Natural Resources and Recess Collective, two local nonprofits that provide services to all types of families. When she is not working with her clients to create personalized estate plans, she plays Cards Against Humanity with her friends, reads the New Yorker cover to cover and cheers on her sons at soccer games and music recitals.
